What kind of wood do you use?
ANSWER: Sustainable harvested dry Pine Logs from the mountains in CO.
Why does the wood have cracks?
ANSWER: As the trees dry from drought standing, this allows them to fully dry in low humidity. These trees are such slow growers that the tension is released as they fully dry. No further cracking occurs later and are very stable to use.
Are they safe for outdoors?
ANSWER: Extra care must be taken to be fully outdoors, sealer must be reapplied yearly or when necessary. Porch life is fine and usually no further sealer is needed. I use a marine spar finish for salt water sailboats.
Do you paint or stain?
ANSWER: I use color matched stain that I spray with a airbrush for great coverage. They are then coated with a finish sealer
Do you ship? Are they heavy?
ANSWER: Yes I ship all sizes, they logs are very dry and weigh as little as possible for their size.
Are you licensed and copyrighted with the school?
ANSWER: Yes the only known licensed college mascot carver in the country.
Do you make other things? Bears or other mascots?
ANSWER: Yes always willing to here any ideas for fun projects.
